Hospital treatment made me feel like a ‘bag lady’

A LOCAL woman has spoken of “a nightmare experience” during which she was treated “appallingly” at the Royal Victoria Hospital’s A&E department. Ann McLaughlin (64) was brought to A&E on the evening of Tuesday, May 22 on the advice of a Beldoc after she had been violently sick for five days.

Big-hearted Celtic FC players have met fans in North Belfast at an event organised by a local football club. The Hoops’ stars Anthony Stokes, Paddy McCourt, Mark Wilson and Niall McGinn were the guests of Ardoyne’s Shamrock FC, and arrived at the club to present end-of-season awards to local players last Saturday evening.

Another barracks gets social housing go ahead

Social housing is to be built on the site of a former North Belfast barracks that closed two years ago. The homes are to be built by Fold Housing Association on the site of Oldpark Barracks. The former police station closed in 2010. The housing association is to built ten homes on the site.

ARIZONA Rose Lucy Artt was in West Belfast this week preparing for the regional finals of the Rose of Tralee International Festival.
