Miracle of little baby Rubie
A YOUNG West Belfast couple will be counting their blessings at the Clonard Novena this week after their new-born baby was rescued from the brink of death. Jonny and Tanya McKeown were told there were “no signs of life” after little Rubie was born on May 28, and they were faced with the agonising decision of whether or not to switch off her ventilator.

Local parks experience big rise in booze and nuisance
SOUTH Belfast’s parks continue to have a “significant” problem with public boozing and other anti-social behaviour, the Council has warned. New figures show a stark rise in incidents right across Belfast city parks and leisure facilities, with Botanic Gardens topping the city list of problem parks in the period between February and May.
Ceiling collapses twice in six weeks
A West Belfast mother has spoken of how she’s living in fear after her kitchen ceiling collapsed for the second time in six weeks.Christine Conlon says the Fold Group, who own her Sliabh Dubh View home, cannot trace the source of the problem that saw parts of the ceiling fall in, narrowly missing her eight month-old son.
