A CAMPAIGN to raise vital funds for a young Belfast boy battling a rare form of cancer is gathering pace thanks to his cheeky take on an internet viral phenomenon and a recent high-profile charity auction. The Belfast Media Group is backing the fundraising campaign for three-year-old Oscar Knox, who needs up to £250,000 for treatment for neuroblastoma, an aggressive strain of the disease which specifically affects children.

Colleagues’ grief over holiday fall tragedy

The director of a South Belfast company who employed a woman who fell to her death whilst on holiday has spoken of his devastation at her tragic loss. Mother of two Jacqueline McClafferty (41), from North Belfast fell from the third floor of the Poseidon Hotel in the Sunny Beach resort on Saturday June 16.

Thousands on Novena pilgrimage

EARLY morning sunshine welcomed the thousands of worshippers who turned out for the first session of this year’s Clonard Solemn Novena yesterday (Wednesday) morning.The rain which had been thundering down for most of the week disappeared as people from across West Belfast and far beyond made their way to the newly refurbished church for the early morning vigil Mass.
