RUAS members vote on Show’s big mooo-ve

Members of the Royal Ulster Agricultural Society attended a meeting last night (Tuesday) to decide on the future venue for the famous Balmoral Show. Ireland’s largest agricultural and food show has been held at King’s Hall in South Belfast for over 100 years but is expected to be relocated to a 65 acre plot of land at the former Maze prison near Lisburn.

Blackbird bring on the stars

A North Belfast theatre company for children and young people is bringing its latest production to a Newtownabbey stage this week. Blackbird Theatre, who are based in St Gerard’s Community Hall on the Antrim Road, bring Bone Idol to the Courtyard Theatre in Ballyearl tonight (Thursday), tomorrow and Saturday.

RESIDENTS of three of South Belfast’s inner city neighbourhoods are being given a say on the future directions of their communities. Over the last week, households in the Lower Ormeau, Markets and Donegall Pass areas have been sent questionnaires on behalf of the local Cromac Regeneration Initiative, which aims to bridge divides between the three communities and improve life for locals.
