Work on a new social housing development on the Cliftonville Road could begin within months after a housing association applied for planning permission to build ten homes. Apex Housing Association plan to build the houses at the site of the former Methodist church at the corner of the Cliftonville Road and Windham Drive.

Grief and relief as Joby is finally laid to rest

The family and friends of Joby Murphy lined the streets of North Belfast in their hundreds this morning (Thursday) to say their final goodbyes to the 20-year-old who died after falling into the River Lagan last month. The Glengormley man’s body was recovered on Saturday past, over a month after he had fallen into the river after a night out at the Odyssey complex.

The Belfast Media Group’s very own Ed McGinley, of Annadale Striders, had the race of his life in Dublin on Sunday to take the Irish InterClub Cross Country title at Santry. The 29 year-old, who is sports editor of the South Belfast News and the North Belfast News, led from the start to finish first in the 12 kilometre event, but had a trio of Clonliffe Harriers runners in attendance from early on.

‘Find carjackers before tragedy strikes’
