Annadale Striders are once again hoping Ormeau Park will be a happy hunting ground as the South Belfast club aims for both individual and team glory at the Podium 4 Sport Seeley Cup.

The 10k road race is the key date in the winter calendar for Striders who have won 25 out of the previous 29 editions of the event.

Annadale will look to the ever-improving Andrew Agnew and Paddy Hamilton for individual honours while Owen Carleton, Paul Carroll, Mark Wright and Andrew McKee make up a sterling Striders line up.

Agnew is in great form having won the Bobby Rea Memorial Cross-Country race at Barnett Demesne two weeks ago while Hamilton toes the line for the first time since an injury ravaged summer.

The Striders contingent will have their work cut out in the race for the top prize as Meath man Andrew Ledwith makes the trip to Belfast.

The Irish international and former Iona College star is attempting to bounce back from a disappointing showing, by his high standards, at the Dublin Marathon. North Belfast Harriers’ Alan O’Hara will also be in the mix as well as Willowfield veteran Paul Rowan.

Dromore’s Julie Turley is fancied to be among the medals in the women’s race although former Olympian Maria McCambridge is an exciting addition to the line up.
