A WEST Belfast family’s dream Spanish holiday has been turned into a nightmare after they were set upon by a group
Arise, Sir Squinter. Now sit down again

AS the great and the good of Our Wee Pravince beam for the cameras after being included on this year’s Queen’s Corgi’s Birthday Honours List – or Spot the Catholic, as it’s known in West Belfast – Squinter wonders how he can elbow his way into this exalted company.
I’ve no problem standing up for the Ulstermen

I must take exception to Jude Collins’ rant in the Andersonstown News (May 26) regarding his ‘Dilemma of standing up for the Ulstermen’.
Rugby internationally is played by Ireland – all 32 counties of it – and I as an Ulster Prod have stood in Lansdowne Road and Croke Park and sung Amhrán na bhFiann with the best of them. I have also followed Ireland and Ulster to all part of the British Isles and beyond (I know Jude won’t like to see the word British here but it is a fact of geographical life that Ireland is part of the British Isles, whatever he may think).
People urged to take to streets
LOCAL people been asked to come out and show their support for veteran West Belfast republican Marian Price this weekend at a special march and rally organised to highlight her plight. The rally comes as the 58-year-old’s health continues to deteriorate as she is held in isolation at Hydebank Women’s Prison despite having been granted bail on charges brought against her – a situation described by local republicans as internment.
Anniversary vigil will commemorate massacre dead
A vigil to mark the 39th anniversary of the New Lodge Six massacre when six local people were killed by the British army will be held tomorrow night (Friday).
