Husband and wife on murder charge

A husband and wife have been remanded in custody charged with the murder of a West Belfast man.Charles Stephen Valliday, 40, and Julie-Ann Valliday, 35, of Powerscourt Place in South Belfast, are charged with murdering Christopher Mackin, who was shot dead near the city centre a week ago.
Shooting ‘achieved nothing’
A LOCAL MLA has said those responsible for a weekend paramilitary-style shooting in Twinbrook have no support in the local community. At around 9.10am on Sunday, March 4, a 20-year-old man received a gunshot wound to the leg in the Glasvey Close area and required hospital treatment.

TWINBROOK Oscar-winner Terry George made a return visit to his native West Belfast this week after picking up the coveted award for his short film ‘The Shore’.
